A foundation school

Forest School

At Cuffley, we believe that some of the most meaningful learning takes place beyond the classroom. Our Forest School programme plays a key role in nurturing the whole child, offering enriching, hands-on experiences in a natural outdoor setting.

With access to large woodland areas, children are free to explore, imagine and create. From building dens and climbing trees to crafting natural artwork or safely using tools around a campfire, each session encourages independence, confidence, resilience, and creativity through real-world challenges.

Forest School sessions are led by our qualified practitioners and thoughtfully adapted to suit the individual needs and interests of the children.

Our Forest School is well equipped, and activities may include exploring natural habitats, tree climbing, sensory play with mud and water, shelter building, reflective time in hammocks, creative nature-inspired tasks, safe tool use, and sharing stories and food around a campfire.

These experiences support mindfulness, emotional development, and a growing appreciation for the natural world—key qualities in nurturing confident, compassionate learners.
